Guillaume de Fontenay began his career as a production designer at the well renowned theatre for performance art, Carbone 14 in Montreal. While there, he also made furniture and set designs for shows and architectural spaces, earning him an award from the Montreal Design Institute in 2000. Guillaume’s work in large-scale exhibitions led him to be commissioned as an exhibit designer by both the Montreal and San Francisco Museums of Fine Arts to create one of the largest international retrospectives of Andy Warhol in the world entitled Warhol Live.
Guillaume sees film as a means of expressing his ‘raw vision of life’ and his multi-faceted background gives him a unique artistic vision and directional approach. His expression and stylistic achievements in advertising have earned him the Ad Council’s top creative awards including the Gold Bell and the Grand Prix, as well as two golds at the Cassies, Site of the Day at FWA and two Marcus Awards at the European Car Advertising Film Festival.
